A Night Out on the Town

My nieces have been staying with us for the last 4 days or so while their parents have been in Canada at the Olympics (so jealous). Saturday night the BYU dance team performed Living Legends in Vernal so we took them out for date night.

We dressed up, curled hair and had a sitter for the youngins' (our kids) to enjoy a night out on the town.

Aubrey and Maycie LOVED it! They kept asking if the dancers were real, could they speak 'normal' (For a 6-year-old that means English) and if they were really fighting.

After the performance the dancers mingled with the audience. Aubrey so badly wanted to talk to the dancers but they were in costume and she didn't quite dare. After wondering around to find a dancer that looked 'nice' she finally shook hands and very quickly walked away. Then mustered up the courage to shake another hand and then another. Eventually, she wanted her picture taken.

After the picture Aubrey hastily turned around, hugged the dancer on the far left and then practically ran out the door of the building hearing "ahhh" from all of the dancers. As we were walking to our car Aubrey finished with "he's so handsome!" and the biggest smile I've seen on her face!
